Royal in Louisiana is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer Intern to join our multidisciplinary team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in design and project management, supporting reports, plans, permits, and schedules while contributing to quality control and client communications.

You will assist in preparing design documents, evaluating site conditions, and supporting construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• 2–4 years of progressive engineering experience under a licensed PE.
• Active Louisiana EI designation required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide general, entry-level support to the engineering department.
• Prepare construction cost estimates, schedules, reports, and project design calculations.
• Ensure compliance with company and client quality requirements.
• Prepare design plans and specifications for projects.
• Evaluates the physical conditions of the worksite to aid in design plans.
• Conduct assessments of damage at worksites.

About Us

You’ll assist in preparing reports, specifications, plans, permit applications, and construction schedules, while supporting client communications and contributing to quality control efforts.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide general, entry‑level support to the engineering department.
• Prepare construction cost estimates, schedules, reports, and project design calculations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, and areas.
• Prepare design plans and specifications for projects.
• Evaluates the physical conditions of the worksite to aid in design plans.
• Conduct assessments of damage at worksites.
• Use CAD and other design software to develop design documents.
• Assist in construction administration duties for projects under construction.
  

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or other relevant disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of progressive engineering experience under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Active Louisiana EI designation required.
  
• Valid driver’s license
  

Supervision

Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Extremely detail‑oriented and accurate.

• Ability to visit sites during design and/or construction to observe and record applicable information needed.

• Proficient in computer‑assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
