Job summary

The Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh / UPMC invites applications for an Associate Chief of Clinical Affairs to shape an innovative clinical enterprise serving older adults across inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute settings.

The role leads clinical operations, oversees GUIDE Model and HELP programs, mentors the Fellowship, and drives quality improvement and value-based care across the network.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold an MD and be Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine.
• Demonstrate a record of clinical excellence and leadership.
• A commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as we prioritize delivering the highest quality care in a compassionate, professional environment.
• Experience in program development, quality improvement, and team mentorship is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical operations across inpatient geriatric consultation services, comprehensive outpatient practices, and post-acute / long-term care partnerships throughout the UPMC network.
• Provide strategic oversight of GUIDE Model (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) and coordinate dementia-specific care at home and in the community.
• Oversee Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) to prevent delirium and functional decline in hospitalized older adults.
• Collaborate with Division Chief and Fellowship Program Director to grow the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and mentor future geriatricians.
• Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and value-based care initiatives across all clinical sites.
