Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh/UPMC is seeking an Associate Chief of Clinical Affairs for the Division of Geriatric Medicine to lead clinical operations across inpatient and outpatient geriatric programs within the UPMC network, including post-acute and long-term care partnerships.

This senior leader will champion the GUIDE Dementia Experience and oversee the Hospital Elder Life Program, driving quality, safety, and value-based care for one of the nation's largest older adult populations.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in geriatric medicine.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and integrate clinical operations across inpatient geriatric consultation services, outpatient practices, and post-acute/long-term care partnerships throughout the UPMC network.
• Champion the GUIDE Model (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) to deliver coordinated, dementia-specific care at home and in the community.
• Provide strategic oversight of the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) to prevent delirium and functional decline in hospitalized older adults.
• Collaborate with Division Chief and Fellowship Program Director to grow the ACGME-accredited Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and mentor trainees.
• Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and value-based care across clinical sites, impacting outcomes for older adults.
• Build interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient- and family-centered care.
