Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola seeks a Vice Chief of Anesthesia to lead perioperative services in a Level I trauma center with a broad case mix, including cardiac, OB/GYN, general, pediatrics, ortho, neuro, and vascular surgeries.

The role emphasizes collaboration with CRNAs and physicians, quality assurance, and mentorship, fostering professional growth within a culture of excellence in a coastal Florida community.

Qualifications

• NBCRNA certified (or eligible) and eligible to work in the United States.
• Active Florida license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative and postoperative anesthesia care for a diverse surgical caseload.
• Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons and physicians to ensure high-quality services.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement.
• Lead and mentor anesthesia team, uphold Code of Conduct and core values.
• Promote the profession of nurse anesthesia and Sound's mission.

Local Team Collaboration:

• Strong collaboration between all physicians and CRNAs on the team supporting full scope of practice for all members.
• 16 physician and 62 CRNA model.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative and postoperative care for a Level I trauma center offering cardiac, OB/GYN, general, pediatrics, ortho, neuro, and vascular surgeries.
• Works in collaboration with CRNAs, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians and medical professionals to ensure appropriate anesthesia services are delivered.
• Participates in quality assurance efforts, ensuring patient care requirements are met.
• Effectively assesses and prioritizes various projects.Demonstrates a willingness to work as a team.

• Is committed to interacting effectively and professionally with others.

Scheduling:

• An average 40-hour work week.
• Mixture of 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts.
• 2nd call approx. 1:40 days with call back pay.

Qualifications:

• NBCRNA certified (or to be certified if a student).
• Active FL license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
