Associate Chaplain of Muslim Life at Wake Forest University

The Office of the Chaplain at Wake Forest University is currently recruiting qualified candidates for the full-time position of Associate Chaplain for Muslim Life.

Through advocacy, development, spiritual support, and coordination of cultural, educational and social programs and activities, Muslim Life at Wake Forest seeks to create a safe environment that promotes a rich cross-cultural experience for the entire campus community. The Associate Chaplain for Muslim Life encourages Muslims and non-Muslims to identify common values and negotiate difference in public life.

The primary tasks of this position focus on engaging and providing support to Muslim students, faculty, and staff, initiating and promoting a wide-range of interfaith programs, and assisting as needed with Office of the Chaplain programming and on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required—preferably in closely-related field or the liberal arts.
  • Relevant experience working with Muslim students in organizing and implementing programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Islamic sciences and active involvement in the Muslim community.
  • Basic unit in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred or willingness to complete.
