Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an Associate Buyer - Consumables to partner with project teams and suppliers for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment and services, focusing on consumables, indirect materials, and on-site services.

You will develop supplier relationships, solicit bids, analyze quotations, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, while upholding Mortenson's ethics and safety standards. This role is based in Minneapolis and offers an incentive plan.

• Create and maintain catalogs for each operating group or project that is supported.
• Propose purchase transactions that higher authority approves prior to final action.
• Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers.
• Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams.
• Enter purchase orders and retain contact with suppliers to ensure delivery of material on a timely basis.
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Associate Buyer - Consumables that will be responsible for working with project teams and suppliers to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services. The primary focus of material procurement includes consumables, indirect materials, and on-site services.

The base pay range for this role is $59,300 - $80,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
