Job summary

Clack Corporation in Windsor, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to manage timely procurement of materials, supplies and equipment at the best price while optimizing inventory turns. Lead supplier selection and negotiate terms to support production needs.

Responsibilities include coordinating shipments, maintaining MRP data, expediting orders, and collaborating with sales, customer service and production management on special requests.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business preferred or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Previous experience in purchasing.
• Knowledge of blow molding and/or water treatment components preferred.
• Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Purchase quality water treatment components and other designated items via established vendors under the supervision of Purchasing Manager.
• Follow established protocol for placing foreign purchase orders, including terms, codes, product descriptions.
• Coordinate incoming shipments with receiving, considering production requirements and warehouse capacity.
• Contact carriers and communicate when goods are ready for pickup.
• Maintain inventory levels by issuing purchase orders to meet customer needs and production schedules.
• Coordinate the production of a select group of water treatment items based on sales and departmental needs.
• Expedite orders from vendors.
• Interact with sales, customer service and production management personnel on special requests.
• Maintain and check accuracy of MRP items based upon sales feedback and our own product mix changing.
• Seek out new vendors; negotiate better terms and prices with the goal of cost savings.
• Visit select vendors to improve working relationships.
• Prepares required data for use at production meetings.
• Maintains necessary records and files.
• Return rejected incoming product due to poor quality.

Summary

Duties

• Purchase quality water treatment components and other designated items via established vendors under the supervision of Purchasing Manager.

• Coordinate incoming shipments with receiving, taking into consideration production requirements and warehouse capacity.

• Provides back up to designated purchasing staff functions.

• Visit select vendors to improve working relationships.
• Prepares required data for use at production meetings.

Qualifications
