Uniloy INC is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement for blow molding machinery and products. You will ensure a steady supply by evaluating price, quality and delivery while working in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field and 2+ years buying/planning experience or 3+ years in related roles, with strong MRP and ERP system skills. Office-based with on-site responsibilities in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders and review for quantity, price, spec and delivery.
  • Review MRP messages to ensure steady material flow.
  • Negotiate costs, terms, and supplier contracts to reduce costs.
  • Update POs with delivery dates and confirmations.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure on-time product delivery.
  • Monitor ship dates for backordered materials and adjust plans.
  • Analyze supply chain issues and recommend delivery-assurance actions.
  • Maintain planning parameters (safety stock, lead times).
  • Utilize ERP system to complete assigned tasks.
  • Proactively contact vendors to confirm deliveries and resolve delays.

Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials for blow molding machinery and products. The Buyer ensures the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality and delivery to maintain the continuity of supply.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process purchase orders and review each for quantity, price, specification and delivery requirements.
  • Review and react to MRP messages to ensure a steady flow of materials.
  • Responsible for achieving cost reductions and quality and delivery initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with new suppliers or products
  • Update PO’s with supplier confirmation information (delivery dates, quantities, etc.).
  • Coordinate material deliveries into the supply chain to ensure on time delivery of the product.
  • Monitor and assign ship dates to backordered materials.
  • Assist in the analysis of supply chain issues, work in progress and potential production setbacks and participates in providing recommendations to assure delivery requirements are satisfied
  • Participate in the periodically revision of planning and inventory parameters (safety stock, lead time, etc.).
  • Works extensively in ERP system to complete the assignments listed above.
  • Ensure vendors are contacted in a timely manner; follow up to verify goods are delivered when needed and notify necessary departments if delays occur
  • Assist in the analysis of potential production setbacks and participates in providing recommendations to assure delivery requirements are satisfied
  • Work with vendors to expedite orders and resolve issues around late deliveries
  • All other duties as assigned.

Competencies
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems and functionality.
  • Understanding of BOM structure and material management.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain related field and at least 2 years of buying/planning experience or at least 3 years of related experience is required.
Work Environment

Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.

This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.
