Job Details

• Title: Associate Business Process Engineer
• Location: New Haven, CT (Hybrid schedule - once a week onsite)
• Duration: 8-12 months before converting

Overview

The Associate Business Process Engineer is responsible for structured problem-solving by analyzing business and technical processes to develop new, improved, and modified business processes and measures, leveraging digital capabilities of business systems. The role involves collaborating with various teams to formulate and develop new and improved business models based on digital and emerging technologies. The engineer will participate in all phases of process improvement engagements.

Core Responsibilities

1. Evaluate and streamline business processes, identifying areas for improvement and eliciting requirements for change.
2. Represent business process needs to define User Stories/requirements and business cases for process enhancements or system implementations.
3. Support business problem analysis and determine suitable methodologies for resolving issues.
4. Coordinate system requirements with relevant teams, including program functions, output/input needs, and controls.
5. Facilitate cross-functional teams on enterprise-wide process design and reengineering initiatives.
6. Support organizational change management activities related to process redesign and improvements.

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles, tools, and methods, along with data analysis and process engineering methodologies.
• Effective communication and presentation skills across organizational levels.
• Ability to build consensus among business and IT teams.
• Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
• Experience with process modeling tools like Visio, BPMN, or Case Management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
• Understanding of project management, agile methodologies, and business analysis.
• Experience with automation, workflow, and data visualization tools is a plus.
