Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data analytics professional to support buying, planning, and inventory insights in a fast-paced retail environment. You will perform ad hoc analyses, build dashboards, and investigate data across large datasets using Excel, Google Sheets, Looker, BigQuery, and o9.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, a retail background, and experience with BI tools; collaboration across functions is essential to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Resolve reporting or system issues while working carefully with large datasets
• Support business-critical initiatives through ad hoc analysis, dashboard development, and data investigation
• Use Excel, Google Sheets, BI tools such as Looker and BigQuery, and planning systems such as o9
• Develop and maintain knowledge of buying, planning, and inventory processes and related KPIs
• Evaluate mathematical and analytical outputs using critical thinking
• Maintain and update documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
• Monitor key performance metrics
• Regularly audit data to ensure accuracy and reliability

Requirements

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Background in the retail industry or a similar field
• Strong analytics and ad hoc reporting experience, ideally supporting operational or buying/planning teams
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with BI or data visualization tools
• Familiarity with SQL or a strong interest and proven initiative in learning a programming language
• Curiosity, proactivity, and eagerness to learn new systems while troubleshooting technical issues
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field required
