Job summary

ATCC in Manassas, VA, is seeking an Associate Biologist for onsite production and QA in a biological manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, cell culture, and strict documentation to support GLP and safety standards.

The candidate will perform production activities, ensure accurate data recording, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality objectives, while contributing to continuous process improvements in a nonprofit scientific setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS Diploma and 4 years).
• Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Operations: Execute production activities and quality control testing by following SOPs and controlled documents.
• Aseptic Technique & Cell Culture: Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques with cell lines and other materials.
• Documentation & Compliance: Accurately record batch and laboratory data while maintaining GLP and quality compliance.
• Laboratory Support: Maintain laboratory readiness, support equipment use, and follow safety procedures.
• Problem Solving & Improvement: Assist with troubleshooting routine laboratory challenges and process improvements.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and quality objectives.
