Stern & Eisenberg PC is seeking an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney to manage bankruptcy case portfolios from assignment to closure. The role supports drafting pleadings, reviewing filings, and appearing in court across a hybrid/remote setup with possible work from PA, NJ, NY, or DE offices.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of bankruptcy experience, strong writing and collaboration skills, and is admitted to NJ (PA or NY a bonus). Superior organizational abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and bar admission in NJ; PA/NY a bonus.
• 1–3 years bankruptcy/litigation experience preferred.
• Proficient with case management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, notices, motions, and orders for bankruptcy cases.
• Research statutes, decisions, and legal articles to support filings.
• Update case management system promptly and accurately.
• Attend hearings and court appearances as needed.
• Collaborate with clients and staff to manage caseload.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Associate Bankruptcy Attorney FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervisor: Managing Bankruptcy Attorney Direct Reports: None

Licensed Attorneys are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Firm’s bankruptcy and lending client case portfolios from assignment to conclusion. Stern & Eisenberg offers a highly competitive salary structure, flexible scheduling, and a comprehensive benefits package. This is a hybrid / remote position with the ability to physically work from any of the Firm’s regional offices in PA, NJ, NY or DE. The ideal candidate will have 1 – 3 years of bankruptcy experience, including drafting and reviewing pleadings and appearing in court. Duties & Responsibilities

• Drafts legal pleadings, notices of hearings, motions, and orders.
• Researches and analyzes statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes, and the like.
• Updates case management system in a timely manner to ensure data integrity.
• Travels to court for court appearance and visits client sites, as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Associate

• Communicates and collaborates with clients, internal staff, and others to ensure effective case management.
• Identifies legal issues / items which require additional review.
• Establishes a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are met for various pleadings that must be served and filed.
• Prioritizes and manages a high volume of files with great accuracy and attention to detail.
• Attends both routine and litigation hearings as well as settlement conferences, oral arguments, and other court appearances as necessary.
• Manages own caseload with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Reviews case work prepared by paralegals and corrected as necessary.

Qualifications

• J.D from an ABA accredited law school
• New Jersey Bar Admission required, additional admission in PA or NY (or both) a bonus; Must be admitted to Federal District Court of NJ
• 1 -3 years bankruptcy court and litigation experience preferred
• 1 -3 years Bankruptcy experience preferred.
• Previous experience with electronic case management systems, CaseAware experience a plus.
• Knowledge of laws related to practice areas, legal codes and court procedures.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate with other attorneys, staff and clients.
• Must able to positively interact and collaborate with clients and employees at all levels.
• Must be flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to handle a large volume of cases
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word
• Valid Driver’s License

Salary Range

Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000K ++, Based on experience

Benefit

Benefit: An origination incentive of 20% offered for any additional business brought into S&E.
