Job summary

East West Bank is hiring an Associate Banker to deliver high-touch relationship banking across customer touchpoints in the United States. You will help customers with daily financial needs, recommend suitable products, and connect clients with Subject Matter Experts for specialized services.

The role emphasizes strong service skills, learnability, and the ability to use digital banking tools to improve the client experience. Weekend availability may be required as part of their service model.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience.
• 1 year teller/new account experience in banking preferred.
• Ability to learn products and procedures quickly and accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with financial transactions such as cash deposits/withdrawals, transfers, loan payments and currency exchange.
• Identify and document large deposits and potential suspicious activity.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and cultivate new ones.
• Cross-sell bank products that fit customers’ needs (depository, wealth management, mortgage).
• Educate clients on online banking via mobile app and self-service portals.
• Learn and adapt to new processes and technology platforms quickly.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong customer service skills; assist customers with financial transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers, loan/credit card payments, wire transfers and foreign currency exchange
• Document large deposit over Currency Transaction Reports
• Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss to the bank
• Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently, while complying with all policies, procedures, and regulatory and banking requirements
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and cultivate new customer relationships
• Cross sell and refer bank products such as (depository products, wealth management, mortgage) that fit customers’ needs
• Have strong knowledge in using digital resources and technologies to optimize clients’ digital banking experience
• Is confident in educating clients on conducting banking transactions online, via mobile app and self-service portals
• Demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt to new processes and technology platforms quickly
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
• 1 year of recent customer service and cash handling experience
• 1 year of previous teller / new account experience in a banking institution preferred
• Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong attention to details and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Flexibility to work on weekends when needed

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $18.00/Hr. - USD $19.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
