Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance or economics preferred; CFA may be acceptable
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Axiom and Bloomberg
  • Experience in Treasury, Liquidity Management or Liquidity Reporting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop scope, structure and ongoing reporting of the Bank’s US Treasury liquidity and balance sheet management reports.
  • Analyze and forecast US liquidity metrics and align with Head Office and Business Lines.
  • Reconcile, analyze and improve US Treasury reports with governance, roles and responsibilities defined.
  • Collaborate with business lines to review and structure new initiatives from liquidity and balance sheet perspective.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of US ALCO materials and committee reports.
  • Enhance balance sheet management processes, liquidity forecasting and interest rate risk management.
  • Support intraday and collateral management framework related to Reg YY EPS.
  • Adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements applicable to US Treasury.
  • Contribute to risk mitigation strategies for liquidity and balance sheet management

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the U.S. Treasury ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.The incumbent is responsible to ensure U.S. Treasury builds and maintains effective relationships with the U.S. GBM businesses to optimize liquidity, balance sheet positioning and drive both profitable and sustainable balance sheet growth.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for the development of scope, structure and on-going reporting of the Bank’s US Treasury liquidity and balance sheet management reports. This includes analysis of all major Treasury reports as well as specific recommendations for improving overall efficiency as it relates to the US Balance Sheet.
  • Support the production and analysis of U.S. liquidity metrics forecasting while ensuring alignment with Head Office and Business Lines, with a focus on strengthening liquidity forecasting capabilities.
  • Liaison with major business lines to reconcile, analyze and improve US Treasury reports including where necessary, building out US Governance, roles and responsibilities, reporting and overall coordination of business line reviews including both unsecured and secured funding markets.
  • Collaborate with business lines and stakeholders to ensure existing business expansion and new initiatives are reviewed and structured efficiently from a liquidity and balance sheet management perspective.
  • Support U.S. ALCO secretary in the preparation, coordination, and distribution of U.S. ALCO and management committee materials.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of Balance Sheet Management operating processes and management reporting capabilities, with a focus on liquidity forecast back testing, liquidity management, and interest rate risk management.
  • Enhance the intraday and collateral management framework as it relates to Reg YY EPS.
  • Adhere to internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to US Treasury.
  • Support the development and deployment of strategies designed to mitigate liquidity risks and optimize balance sheet management.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operations risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the aforementioned Frameworks.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

What You'll Bring
  • Undergraduate degree or graduate degree in business, finance or economics preferred. Non-business degree combined with CFA would be acceptable.
  • Strong analytical skills including extensive facility with PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Axiom and Bloomberg among others.
  • The ability to be precise and there is a strong need to be able to multi-task and be detailed oriented
  • Strong knowledge of and prior experience in Treasury, Liquidity Management, and/or Liquidity Reporting is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills
