Duties
- Manage a portfolio of active workers' compensation defense cases from initiation to resolution.
- Maintain regular and proactive communication with clients, ensuring they are informed at every stage.
- Draft legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, and case summaries.
- Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and other proceedings.
- Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and identify legal precedents.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth file management and case progression.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and legal developments.
- Maintain accurate digital case files within the firm’s paperless system.
- Ensure compliance with all court deadlines, procedural requirements, and client service standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a focus on workers' compensation defense.
- Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases independently while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a paperless office environment, utilizing legal technology for case management and document storage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide responsive, client-centered legal service.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
