Girard & Centonzio Veterans Disability Lawyers LLC, based in Lawrence, Kansas, seeks an Associate Attorney for our national VA disability practice. The role features a flexible four-day workweek to support work-life balance and sustainable legal practice.

You will prepare claims, communicate with clients and VA personnel, and collaborate on case strategy. Some travel and occasional out-of-state client meetings may occur, with a hybrid arrangement possible.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• The ideal applicant will thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills are essential.
• Advocacy should be approached with empathy, cultural competence, and attention to detail.
• Exhibit sound judgment and a commitment to ethical practice.
• Ability to prioritize while meeting deadlines and showing reliability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Spanish language ability is a plus for client correspondence.
• Experience in disability or administrative law is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare claims and appeals, communicating with clients and VA personnel.
• Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy.
• Attend legal conferences twice a year and meet clients out of state as needed.
• Work in a hybrid arrangement based on prior VA disability law experience.
