Job description

Associate Attorneys needed to join active litigation firm, focusing on general litigation practice and environmental law practice.

The ideal candidate will possess two to five years of hands-on litigation experience, including start to finish case management, complex motion practice, pleadings, discovery, depositions, client communication, managing junior associates, and communicating with supervising partners. While not required, familiarity with environmental litigation is a plus.

The Firm’s main office is in Burbank, California (close to Disney Studios). This is a full-time, in-person position, Mon-Fri. Candidate must be able to reliably commute or be planning to relocate before starting work. Part-time hybrid work environment is available.

Attorney Requirements and Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• CA State Bar License
• Civil litigation: 2-5 years
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written AND oral argument skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Strong computer skills and competency
• Successful candidates will be expected to play an active role in small to high-profile matters

Preferred, but not Required, Qualifications:

• Environmental law
• Familiarity with bedrock environmental laws, such as CERCLA
• Geology or hydrogeology background
• Trial, class action, toxic tort, and/or environmental regulatory agency experience
• Administrative and managerial experience

Attorney Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing complex documents
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and complex motions
• Perform legal research
• Make court appearances as necessary
• Supervise junior associates and take direction from supervising partners
