Job summary

Capitol Law Partners PLLC, a growing boutique law firm based in Herndon, Virginia, seeks a full-time Removal Proceedings Attorney to join our removal defense practice. The attorney will handle a range of immigration matters including removal defense, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, habeas petitions, and family- and employment-based immigration, and should be bilingual (Spanish-English).

Based in Herndon, VA, you will represent clients at Master Calendar and Individual Hearings,

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, preferably Virginia
• Removal defense or immigration court (EOIR) experience preferred, but not required
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Represent clients at Master Calendar and Individual Hearings before the Immigration Court
• Prepare and file appeals with the Board of Immigration Appeals
• Draft motions, briefs, and supporting legal filings
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Meet with clients to prepare affidavits, declarations, and hearing testimony
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals across the firm

Our practice covers a wide range of immigration matters, including removal defense, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, habeas corpus petitions, and family- and employment-based immigration. We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) attorney to join our growing team.
