Job description

We are seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our firm’s practice in California. Candidates must reside in California and be able to attend court in person as needed. This role involves handling a broad range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters. Since our headquarters are in New York, communication with the main office will be exclusively via telephone and electronic means such as email and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a diverse caseload of clients in California.
• Communicating with clients regarding their legal matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and reviewing and drafting agreements.
• Negotiating and communicating with opposing parties to resolve claims.
• Conducting legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues.

Qualifications:

• Experience in drafting legal documents such as pleadings and memoranda.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle a heavy workload.
• Admitted to practice law in California (multi-state admission is a plus).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience.
• Proficiency in legal research tools like LexisNexis is a plus.
