The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC in Houston, TX seeks an Associate Attorney with focus on personal injury and school/government liability. You will handle depositions, court hearings, and trial preparation with mentorship from senior attorneys.

Expect involvement in focus groups, trial prep, and skill-building programs. Requirements include 1–2 years in Personal Injury Law, a JD, and CA Bar admission; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Personal Injury Law experience.
• Strong background in Personal Injury Litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery.
• Juris Doctor degree and current good standing with CA State bar.
• Workers' Compensation experience is a plus; bilingual preference noted but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of personal injury matters in litigation.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including filing complaints.
• Draft meet and confer letters regarding discovery disputes.
• Prepare clients for depositions and other hearings.
• Take and defend depositions throughout litigation.
• Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions.
• Attend court appearances.
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases.
• Direct and support investigation on assigned matters.

Job description

Windsor Troy is a civil litigation firm that focuses on plaintiff's side personal injury and school/government liability cases. As an Associate Attorney at Windsor Troy, you will have the opportunity to focus on case strategy and professional development, instead of time-consuming tasks that most firms give their newer lawyers. The right candidate will have experience taking, defending and preparing for depositions and will have an interest in attending court hearings and mediations. The Associate Attorney will be given mentorship by senior attorneys and will have the opportunity to participate in focus groups, trial preparation and attorney skill programs. We provide a lot of support to our attorneys, including AI technology that aims to improve productivity and efficiency. Trial participation is expected, but we will transition you into that part of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings
• Take and defend depositions throughout the course of litigation

• Attend court appearances
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases
• Direct and support investigation on all assigned litigation matters
