Job summary

McCarthy Holthus LLP seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to provide strategic direction for its banking litigation practice. You will manage a diverse caseload, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide internal teams through complex disputes from inception to resolution.

The role requires a JD, active Texas license, and strong research/writing skills. Typical hours are Mon–Fri, with onsite presence 2–3 days per week, plus potential extended hours during peak periods.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to provide legal oversight and strategic direction for the firm's litigation practice. This role requires significant litigation experience, a background in banking or finance law, strong compliance judgment, and the ability to manage a variety of cases from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal oversight and strategic direction for the firm's litigation matters.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of banking litigation matters.
  • Ensure strict compliance with state, federal, and regulatory laws.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend process modifications.
  • Provide legal guidance to operational staff on litigation-related issues.
  • Review and approve procedural changes for legal soundness.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
  • May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs.
Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of active litigation experience.
  • Proven expertise in contested default and banking/mortgage servicing litigation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational and case management skills.
  • High proficiency in legal research (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal district courts preferred.
Work Schedule

The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees are required to be onsite 2-3 days per week following a 90-day training period and upon management approval.

Salary Range

The salary for this position typically ranges from $98,000 - $128,000, depending on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
