Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to join our White Plains, NY office. The candidate should have at least two years of relevant legal experience, with flexibility for other experience levels.

A general practice background or experience in litigation, trusts and estates is welcome. The position offers substantial client contact and the opportunity to handle meaningful matters within a collaborative, team-oriented law firm.

Qualifications

• Admission to practice law in New York State, or eligibility for admission on motion with the ability to obtain promptly.
• At least two years of relevant legal experience preferred; other experience levels may be considered.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Sound professional judgment and careful attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain organized.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong client-service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard legal and business technology.

Responsabilités

• Advising and representing clients on a broad range of practice-specific legal matters.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, pleadings, transactional and closing documents, estate‑planning documents, and other legal instruments.
• Conducting legal research and preparing clear, practical written analyses.
• Communicating regularly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, government agencies, and other parties.
• Managing matters and deadlines with appropriate attorney and staff support.
• Collaborating with attorneys and professionals across the firm’s offices and practice groups.
• Traveling to branch offices, courts, client locations, or other sites as client and business needs require.
