Dwyer & Knight Law Firm in Flagler Beach, FL seeks an Associate Attorney to join full-time on-site. You will work across Personal Injury, Family, Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, and Criminal matters, conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and develop case strategies under supervision.

You will meet clients, provide practical advice, negotiate, attend hearings, and collaborate with staff to manage caseloads with integrity and professionalism. Florida license and JD required; Spanish is a plus.

Role Description

The Associate Attorney will work on-site in Flagler Beach, FL in a full-time capacity, supporting matters in Personal Injury, Family, Bankruptcy, and Criminal law as needed. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and preparing case strategies under the supervision of senior attorneys. The role involves meeting with clients, providing legal advice, and maintaining clear, professional communication throughout the lifecycle of each case. The Associate Attorney will participate in negotiations, attend hearings and other court proceedings, and collaborate with colleagues and staff to manage caseloads efficiently. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical and client-centered practice. The Firm offers competetive commensurate salary.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law with the ability to apply legal principles across multiple practice areas.
• Fluency in Spanish a major plus.
• Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice and maintain professional client relationships.
• Proficiency in legal Research using case law, statutes, and secondary sources.
• Effective Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, plea agreements, and client advocacy.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Florida (or eligibility for admission).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting motions, briefs, and client correspondence.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and respectful, inclusive client service.
• Prior experience or internships or clerkships is helpful, but not necessary to qualify.
