Ascendion in Massachusetts is seeking an Associate Attorney for a regional insurance defense law firm with 2+ years of insurance defense experience. This hybrid position requires a JD from an accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts bar.

• 2+ years of experience in insurance defense or related practice.
• Experience in medical malpractice, products liability, or premises liability.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases, from initial claim evaluation to final resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal and factual research, and develop effective defense strategies for clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Handle written discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for these proceedings

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts

• Draft various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Handle written discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for these proceedings

The annual salary for this position is between 150k-180k. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
