Job summary

Levine, Furman & Rubin, LLC, a Monmouth County boutique law firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our high-performance team focused on Estate Planning, Estate & Trust Administration, and Elder Law. The attorney will meet with clients, design and implement estate plans, draft documents, and handle administration tasks with guidance from senior attorneys.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional legal experience preferred
• Estate planning, elder law, trust administration, or related experience strongly preferred
• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey; New York admission is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable meeting and communicating with clients on a regular basis
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building client relationships
• Self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
• Honest, straightforward, professional, and dependable
• Comfortable learning and working within established systems and processes
• Interested in business development, networking, and growing a legal practice
• Strong desire to continue developing substantive legal knowledge and practical skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct client meetings and consultations under the guidance of senior attorneys
• Assist with the design, preparation, and implementation of estate plans
• Draft and review estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related documents
• Research and analyze estate planning, elder law, tax, and trust administration issues
• Communicate legal concepts and planning recommendations to clients in a clear and understandable manner
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and provide an exceptional client experience
• Coordinate with clients, attorneys, financial professionals, accountants, and other advisors as necessary
• Follow established firm systems and procedures to ensure matters move forward accurately and efficiently
• Assist with estate and trust administration matters from inception through completion
• Review financial and legal documents and identify issues requiring attorney attention
• Maintain accurate and organized matter files and ensure deadlines are tracked and addressed
• Work within and contribute to the firm's established systems and processes
• Look for opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance the client experience
• Be proactive in identifying problems and developing practical solutions rather than waiting to be directed
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff to ensure matters are handled accurately and efficiently
• Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on assignments and deadlines
• Help foster a positive, motivated, and high-performing team environment
