Levine, Furman & Rubin, LLC is a Monmouth County boutique law firm focused primarily on Estate Planning, Estate & Trust Administration, and Elder Law. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our high-performance team.
We are looking for an attorney who is confident, personable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys working with people. Client relationships and client care are at the heart of our practice. The right candidate will be comfortable interacting with clients on a daily basis and able to explain complicated legal concepts in a clear, approachable manner that gives clients confidence and peace of mind.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to develop both substantive legal expertise and the skills necessary to build a successful practice. The senior partner and senior associates will work closely with you to teach both the law and the practical art of estate planning. You will also have access to nationally recognized experts and resources for continued learning, from foundational concepts through advanced planning techniques.
- Conduct client meetings and consultations under the guidance of senior attorneys
- Assist with the design, preparation, and implementation of estate plans
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related documents
- Research and analyze estate planning, elder law, tax, and trust administration issues
- Communicate legal concepts and planning recommendations to clients in a clear and understandable manner
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and provide an exceptional client experience
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, financial professionals, accountants, and other advisors as necessary
- Follow established firm systems and procedures to ensure matters move forward accurately and efficiently
Estate & Trust Administration
- Assist with estate and trust administration matters from inception through completion
- Review financial and legal documents and identify issues requiring attorney attention
- Maintain accurate and organized matter files and ensure deadlines are tracked and addressed
- Work within and contribute to the firm's established systems and processes
- Look for opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, and enhance the client experience
- Be proactive in identifying problems and developing practical solutions rather than waiting to be directed
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff to ensure matters are handled accurately and efficiently
- Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on assignments and deadlines
- Help foster a positive, motivated, and high-performing team environment
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional legal experience preferred
- Estate planning, elder law, trust administration, or related experience strongly preferred
- Admitted to practice law in New Jersey; New York admission is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable meeting and communicating with clients on a regular basis
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building client relationships
- Self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
- Honest, straightforward, professional, and dependable
- Comfortable learning and working within established systems and processes
- Interested in business development, networking, and growing a legal practice
- Strong desire to continue developing substantive legal knowledge and practical skills
