Job summary

Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized defense litigation firm, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of defense litigation experience to join our Boston team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general liability, toxic tort, asbestos, tobacco defense, product liability, or related civil defense litigation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in defense litigation.
• Admission to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island required.
• Candidates admitted in two or more of these jurisdictions are strongly preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and other substantive legal documents.
• Conducting and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Managing discovery and developing case strategy.
• Attending court conferences, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicating directly with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel.
• Assisting with trial preparation and participating in trial as needed.
• Managing cases independently while collaborating with experienced trial attorneys.
