Job summary

The Word & Brown Companies in Orange, CA, seeks an Assistant General Counsel and Paralegal to support the GC in managing the organization’s legal affairs. You will draft, review, and negotiate key contracts, perform legal research, and supervise staff.

The role requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, preferably California State Bar admission, and at least two years of corporate counsel experience. Strong MS Office skills and reliability for on-site and remote work are essential.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• California State Bar admission preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of corporate counsel experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, redline and negotiate important legal agreements.
• Perform legal research, review and analysis.
• Manage legal staff and provide guidance.
• Assist GC in managing the organization’s legal affairs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Manage outside attorneys when necessary.
• Provide guidance and support to GC as requested.
• Manage contracts.
• Input agreements into the legal database used by the department.
• On-site and remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
• Perform other business tasks or functions as assigned.
