Job summary

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in community association law, real estate law or litigation.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and Texas bar license.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to boards and community managers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation, mediation, and administrative proceedings related to Community Association matters
  • Provide guidance on governing documents, bylaws, and regulatory compliance and enforcement
  • Draft and review contracts, policies, and legal opinions
  • Attend foreclosure sales, association board meetings, depositions, hearings, and mediations
  • Handle civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution including pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related pleadings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to develop case strategy

Associate Attorney (Community Association Law)

Location: Downtown Dallas - Onsite (Hybrid option available)

Compensation: $130,000 + annually (commensurate with experience & qualifications)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our firm with a primary focus on community association law with proficiency in both litigation and transactional legal work. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with excellent people skills who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Under general supervision, this position will require performing legal research, reviewing and analyzing law sources such as statutes, case law, and various corporate documents/agreements, preparing legal documents and agreements, and engaging in consumer collections practices. This position is initially onsite, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule based on performance and firm needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in litigation, mediation, and administrative proceedings related to Community Association matters

Required Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in community association law, real estate law or litigation
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from accredited law school and active license to practice law in the State of Texas
  • Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to boards and community managers while balancing risk and business objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional client communication
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with Smokeball case management software is a plus (not required)
