Job summary

The firm in Simi Valley, CA seeks an Associate Attorney to handle a diverse civil docket on-site. You will perform legal research, draft pleadings, and support court appearances while coordinating with clients and staff to ensure efficient case management.

Qualified candidates hold a JD and California Bar membership, with civil litigation experience and familiarity with construction/engineering law advantageous. Excellent writing, research and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Experience in civil litigation or relevant practice areas.
• Familiarity with California construction and/or engineering law is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a caseload, including legal research and drafting pleadings.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests and motions.
• Appear in court, attend hearings, and participate in depositions.
• Engage in negotiations and client meetings.
• Analyze case facts and applicable law to develop strategies.
• Communicate regularly with clients and update them on case progress.
• Coordinate with support staff for timely and accurate case management.
• Maintain detailed records and contribute to firm initiatives.
