Job summary

Orionplacement client is seeking a licensed California attorney with at least 2 years of civil litigation experience to serve as the primary handling attorney on defense cases in a hybrid Los Angeles office.

You will manage all litigation stages, draft motions, coordinate with partners, and maintain regular client communication while meeting billable hour requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in California.
• At least 2 years of civil litigation experience (plaintiff or defense).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with court rules, calendaring, and civil procedure in state and federal courts.
• Ability to manage caseload independently and meet billable hour requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary handling attorney on civil litigation defense cases.
• Manage all stages of litigation including discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and pre-trial preparation.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to strategize on case development and resolution.
• Prepare legal documents including motions and correspondence.
• Participate in occasional trial preparation and proceedings.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates.
• Utilize a legal assistant for administrative support.
