Job summary

Orionplacement is seeking a talented attorney for a Buffalo-based, hybrid role handling civil litigation and insurance defense matters. You will draft pleadings, participate in depositions and motions, and coordinate trial preparation with senior attorneys.

The ideal candidate holds active NYS Bar admission with 1+ year of civil litigation and strong writing, organizational, and client communication skills, with insurance defense or NY Labor Law experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
• 1+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience with legal research, pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Knowledge of New York civil litigation procedures.
• Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
• Insurance defense or New York Labor Law experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle engaging civil litigation and insurance defense matters involving personal injury, premises liability, automobile accidents, construction claims, and general liability.
• Draft pleadings, discovery documents, legal memoranda, and motions.
• Assist with depositions, court appearances, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Develop litigation strategies alongside experienced attorneys.
• Communicate with clients and contribute to effective case resolutions.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Location:

Buffalo, NY | Hybrid. Join our Buffalo team with a collaborative hybrid schedule. New attorneys typically begin with four days per week in the office, with the opportunity to transition toward three days onsite as they become established.

Note:

Applicants must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have at least 1 year of civil litigation experience. Insurance defense experience is a plus,not a requirement.
