ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY (Civil Litigation) - Boston, MA (Hybrid) Join our leading law firm as a civil litigation Associate and put your strong analytical, research, and writing skills to work. We're looking for proactive problem solvers with excellent communication and organizational abilities, who thrive both independently and in a collaborative environment. A strong foundation in both federal and state court procedures, as well as experience in preparing and reviewing litigation documents, is essential. The position offers a competitive salary between $110K and $125K, based on your experience. A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney As a civil litigation Associate, your day will be multi-faceted, offering a blend of independent work and team collaboration. You'll begin by managing your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, all while keeping a keen eye on details and deadlines. You'll also prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with valuable courtroom experience. Collaboration is key, and you'll work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies. Regular communication with clients will be a central part of your day, as you provide them with status updates and interim written reports on the progress of their cases. Additionally, you'll conduct thorough legal research, preparing memoranda to support case strategy, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management. What you need to be qualified for an Associate position To succeed as an Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation) - Boston, MA, you will need a robust set of skills and qualifications. A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts State Bar are essential prerequisites. You should possess at least one (1) year of prior experience in Massachusetts state and federal courts. Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset. Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial. Additionally, you will assist in trials and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills. Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions will also be part of your role, making attention to detail and effective communication key attributes for success in this position.
