Job Overview:
A New York City-based law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate with a strong foundation in structured and asset-based finance transactions. This position involves managing complex financing deals, particularly those involving transportation and specialty assets. Duties:

Handle a range of finance transactions involving aircraft, railcars, maritime assets, and other specialized collateral

Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security documentation, and related financing instruments

Lead and coordinate multiple workstreams across deal timelines and stakeholders

Interface directly with clients, counterparties, and internal deal teams

Participate in internal knowledge-sharing, client development, and team mentoring initiatives

Stay current with industry trends and evolving legal standards in structured finance

Requirements:

2 to 6 years of transactional legal experience within a law firm environment

Background in asset-based lending, leveraged finance, capital markets, private equity, project finance, securitization, or structured finance

Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documentation and managing complex financial deals

Proven ability to manage concurrent matters efficiently

Interest or experience working with unique asset classes such as transportation equipment

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree

Strong academic performance from a recognized institution

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar (or in progress) and in good standing
