Job summary

JHM Partners in Missouri is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation practice. From day one you will gain meaningful courtroom experience, work directly with clients, and grow under mentorship of experienced litigators.

You will represent individuals and businesses in a variety of legal matters, collaborate closely with partners, and play an integral role in every stage of litigation.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Missouri.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Passion for litigation and professional growth through hands-on experience and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in litigation matters, negotiations, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage cases through all phases of litigation, from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and legal team members to deliver outstanding client service.
  • Maintain organized case files while managing deadlines and multiple matters efficiently.
  • Provide practical legal advice tailored to each client's objectives.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and foster strong, long-term client relationships.
