Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney at Mary Alexander & Associates in San Francisco, CA. You will be joining a phenomenally successful firm, focusing in personal injury and wrongful death. As an associate, you will manage your own caseload of diverse personal injury matters, handling cases from intake through resolution. You’ll contribute to all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, and appearing in court. You’ll work directly with clients—building trust, providing guidance, and helping shape the outcome of their cases. You’ll play an active role in trial preparation and strategy sessions, and collaborate closely with a supportive and experienced team dedicated to advocating for injured clients.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who can assist in managing diverse and complex cases. Experience in taking depositions and reviewing records is a plus, but we will consider a strong candidate without this experience.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar (or awaiting Bar results with intent to practice in California)
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Eager to learn and develop expertise in personal injury law
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated
• Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff
• Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and collaborate with a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools
• Courtroom, deposition, or trial experience (including internships or clinics) is a plus but not required
