Job summary

Benenati Law Firm A Professional Association in Orlando seeks an early-career attorney to learn consumer bankruptcy from the ground up. You will meet with prospective clients in English and Spanish and assist with hearings in the U.S.

Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida. We provide hands-on mentoring from experienced bankruptcy attorneys and opportunities to work on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, student loan issues, and pre-suit personal injury work, with room to grow as you advance

Qualifications

• Licensed in Florida within the last five years, or a recent graduate awaiting bar results.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Comfortable talking with people who are going through a stressful time.
• Organized, dependable, and willing to ask questions.
• Admission to the Middle District of Florida, or willingness to get it (we’ll help).

Responsibilities

• Meet with prospective clients for consultations in English and Spanish.
• Cover hearings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida.
• Help with student loan matters and other work that supports bankruptcy clients.
• Hands-on experience with pre-suit personal injury cases.
• Work with paralegals and case managers to solve client problems.
• Learn every stage of a bankruptcy case, from intake through discharge.

We run a busy consumer bankruptcy practice, mostly Chapter 7 and Chapter 13, and we’re looking for an early-career attorney who wants to learn this area of law from the ground up and grow with us.

You don’t need bankruptcy experience. We’ll teach you. What we need is someone who is motivated, takes initiative, and is ready to get in front of clients and judges early in their career.

What you’ll do:

• Meet with prospective clients for consultations, in English and Spanish
• Cover hearings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, including motions to redeem
• Help with student loan matters and other work that supports our bankruptcy clients
• Hands-on experience with our pre-suit personal injury cases
• Work with our paralegals and case managers to solve client problems as they come up
• Learn every stage of a bankruptcy case, from intake through discharge

What we’re looking for:

• Licensed in Florida within the last five years, or a recent graduate awaiting bar results
• Fluent in Spanish and English (many of our clients are from Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and South America)
• Comfortable talking with people who are going through a stressful time
• Organized, dependable, and willing to ask questions
• Admission to the Middle District of Florida, or willingness to get it (we’ll help)

Where you’ll work:

• Based in our Orlando office, with regular trips to our Kissimmee office for consultations.
