Job summary

Mizrahi Kroub LLP is seeking an Associate to join the growing Employment Litigation practice in New York City. The Associate will support a Senior Associate and/or Partner, handling matters from pre-litigation through resolution with mentorship and hands-on experience.

You will draft pleadings, conduct legal research, manage case timelines, and assist in hearings, depositions, and negotiations. This role offers growth opportunities within a collaborative, mission-driven firm.

Qualifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
• 1–2 years of litigation experience, preferably employment or plaintiff-side.
• Familiarity with employment-related claims (Title VII, NYSHRL, NYC HRL, FLSA, NYLL).
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Interest in developing litigation skills with mentorship.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (Lexis Nexis, Clio).

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Communicate with clients regarding case developments and assist with case management.

• Review discovery materials and assist with discovery strategy.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and conferences.
• Collaborate with the litigation team to advance matters efficiently.
• Take on increasing responsibility as experience grows.

We are seeking an Associate to join our growing Employment Litigation practice. The Associate will work closely with and under the guidance of a Senior Associate and/or Partner, assisting with matters from pre-litigation through resolution. This position offers the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands‑on litigation experience while receiving mentorship and support from experienced attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with all phases of employment litigation matters, including both pre-litigation and filed cases, under the supervision of a Senior Associate and/or Partner.
• Draft demand letters, pleadings, complaints, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and other written analyses as needed.
• Communicate with clients regarding case developments and assist with ongoing case management.
• Assist with preparing for and attending court hearings, conferences, and other appearances.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, including assisting with document and witness preparation.
• Review and analyze discovery materials and assist with discovery strategy and responses.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Work collaboratively with Senior Associates, Partners, paralegals, and other members of the litigation team to advance matters efficiently and effectively.
• Take on increasing responsibility for matters as experience and proficiency develop.

Qualifications:

• Admitted to the New York State Bar
• Minimum 1-2 years of litigation experience, preferably involving employment law or plaintiff-side litigation.
• Familiarity with employment-related claims arising under statutes such as:
• Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
• New York State Human Rights Law.
• New York City Human Rights Law.
• Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
• New York Labor Law (NYLL).
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Interest in developing litigation skills and taking on increasing responsibility with mentorship and guidance.
• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and legal software (e.g., Lexis Nexis, Clio, etc.)
