Job summary

HonorVet Technologies in New York is seeking a Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Associate to join the Litigation team. The role offers collaboration with shareholders, client-facing work, and opportunities for professional growth within a multidisciplinary practice.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of bankruptcy experience, strong knowledge of UCC and bankruptcy law, and an active New York J.D. admission. The firm supports a hybrid work policy with in-office and remote days.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of bankruptcy and financial restructuring experience at a law firm.
  • Experience representing secured creditors, landlords, asset purchasers, equipment lessors, and fiduciaries.
  • Substantive knowledge of creditors' rights, bankruptcy law, UCC Articles 2, 2A, and 9, equipment leasing, and general commercial litigation.
  • Deposition and case management experience, including appearances in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts; ability to negotiate settlements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; able to work independently and in teams.
  • J.D. degree with New York admission in good standing or pursuing admission.

Responsibilities

  • Join the Litigation team on bankruptcy matters and restructurings in New York.
  • Collaborate with shareholders and clients; participate in business development initiatives.
  • Engage in meaningful client-facing activities and contribute to the platform's growth.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Associate to join the Litigation team in our New York office. Our cohesive and collaborative team has a diverse and multidisciplinary practice that provides the opportunity to work closely with shareholders, participate in business development initiatives, and engage in meaningful client-facing activities. Our platform supports professional growth and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Required Skills
  • You have 2–4 years of bankruptcy and financial restructuring experience at a law firm.
  • You have experience representing secured creditors, landlords, purchasers of assets, equipment lessors, and fiduciaries in workouts, out-of-court restructurings, and all phases of Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
  • You have substantive knowledge of creditors' rights, bankruptcy law, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC Articles 2, 2A, and 9), equipment leasing, commercial finance law, and general commercial litigation.
  • You have deposition and case management experience, including the ability to appear in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts, negotiate settlements, and correspond with opposing counsel.
  • You possess excellent oral and written communication skills and can work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • You have a J.D. degree (or its equivalent) with strong academic credentials and are admitted in (and in good standing with), or taking steps to become admitted in, New York.
