THE POSITION:

Our firm is seeking to hire a detail-oriented Associate to join our New Jersey litigation practice. This role involves handling claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall, premises liability, professional negligence, and others. Our clients in these matters include property owners, insurance companies, and municipalities. Responsibilities for the Associate will include but may not be limited to:

  • Independently handling cases including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Collaborate with claims representatives and insured clients to share legal strategies and insights, providing guidance and support throughout the litigation process.
  • Begin to accurately track and record time worked while understanding and applying billable hours principles to ensure proper invoicing and compliance.
  • Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and other court filings with attention to detail and accuracy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be currently barred in New Jersey.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in litigation, insurance defense and liability matters preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage caseloads and deadlines.
  • Strong oral advocacy and analytical writing skills.
  • Familiarity communicating with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and court filings with detail and accuracy.
