Job summary

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar, or eligibility and intent to become licensed in Ohio.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a small team.
  • Professional judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.
  • Willingness to learn and handle a broad variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence
  • Meeting with clients and assisting with client counseling
  • Preparing and reviewing real estate documents and transactional materials
  • Assisting with probate and estate administration
  • Preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate-planning documents
  • Assisting with business formations and related documentation
  • Participating in civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and, as experience develops, trials
  • Appearing in court and before administrative bodies as appropriate
  • Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other professionals
  • Managing assigned files and meeting deadlines
  • Developing practical legal solutions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service
  • J.D. from an accredited law school

Position Responsibilities
