Job summary

Meisner Santiago, a defense-oriented civil litigation firm in Nashville, seeks an associate attorney to work on complex defense matters with experienced trial lawyers. The role offers direct client contact, broad exposure to discovery, motions practice, and courtroom advocacy in a collaborative, family-like culture.

You will support case strategy, engage in depositions and hearings, and contribute to providing excellent counsel to insurers, businesses, and premises owners in Middle Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the Tennessee Bar.
• 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; exceptional recent graduates may be considered.
• Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, or employment litigation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day litigation tasks on active defense matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and case evaluations.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and court appearances.

** Role Description**

This position offers hands‑on experience in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. The associate will work closely with experienced trial attorneys and play an active role in case strategy, client counseling, and courtroom advocacy. The position offers significant opportunities for courtroom experience, professional development, and increasing responsibility based on performance.

** Qualifications**

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school


• Active license and good standing with the Tennessee Bar

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
