About

La Rosa Law, P.A. is a quickly growing virtual law firm headquartered in Miami that offers tailored legal services at the intersection of business and immigration. Our clients are often small and mid-sized business owners and families looking for effective but practical guidance without the usual trappings and bloat associated with larger law firms.

La Rosa Law is a law firm for “happy” lawyers and staff. We provide our team with maximum work-life balance and freedom, as well as tailored payment structures. If you are a reliable, high-integrity, high-energy individual with a strong work ethic and seeking a flexible work schedule and a competitive wage, you’ll be a good fit for the Associate Attorney position at La Rosa Law.

Position Summary

La Rosa Law seeks an experienced and self-motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing business litigation practice. Candidates must have litigation experience and be prepared to manage a meaningful caseload with minimal supervision. While the Associate Attorney will be expected to handle matters independently, the role offers maximum flexibility—you may work any hours of the day, from any location, provided that deadlines and client needs are met.

This position focuses primarily on business-related litigation but may include occasional transactional work and support in related practice areas. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, attending hearings, taking depositions, preparing legal research and memoranda, and managing client communications. The Associate Attorney will work remotely, attend a standing weekly meeting for case review, and be available for scheduled client calls. There are no billable hour minimums; at La Rosa Law, you are compensated based on what you bill—plus additional bonuses for successfully completed matters.

The ideal candidate for this role is entrepreneurial, assertive, and confident in their litigation skills. You should be able to take initiative, independently drive cases forward, and proactively offer solutions without constant oversight. If you thrive on flexibility, responsibility, and the opportunity to build deep litigation expertise within a dynamic and growing firm, you will fit right in at La Rosa Law.

Daily job responsibilities may include completion of the following tasks:

  • Providing support to La Rosa Law attorneys, which may include legal drafting, review, research, and analysis.
  • Be a team player willing to help with occasional administrative work (e.g., calendaring, scheduling calls and meetings, filings, drafting emails, etc.);

  • Protecting La Rosa Law’s reputation by keeping client information confidential;
  • Assembling legal and client materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence;

  • Proofreading and editing legal documents;
  • Communicating with prospective and current clients;
  • Preparing and delivering presentations on business and/or immigration law to the community, prospective, and current clients;
  • Keeping up-to-date with legal news and new developments by participating in continuing education opportunities, reading legal publications, and maintaining personal networks.

Are you a good fit?

At La Rosa Law, we love what we do and the culture we are working to build. But we are an acquired taste—our team is not the right fit for everyone!

Good fit. This position should be right up your alley if…

  • You do not seek the structure of the traditional office.
  • You enjoy working on different types of projects (more a generalist than a specialist).
  • You can take the lead, chasing down your supervisors (who are busy and not always in the office) to ask questions you need answered, and you take ownership of ensuring the job gets done (you don’t need to be micromanaged because you can take initiative).

Not a good fit. This is not going to be the right position for you if…

  • You are looking to work in a traditional office context (you demand structure and clear-cut instructions and seek an employer who will spell everything out for you), and the volatile nature of working with a small business scares you.
  • You are shy, expect your supervisors to hold your hand and walk you through tasks step-by-step, and need significant supervision to complete projects.
  • You are not an “all hands on deck” team player (you can’t be bothered to do work that you think is “beneath” you), and,
  • You are unable or uncomfortable communicating with people (internally or externally).

Key considerations: Availability and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines. Strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening). Sound judgment and flexibility. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple support tasks.
