Job summary

The ideal candidate has active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction and fluency in Spanish and English, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in removal and deportation defence matters.
• Appear before EOIR/Immigration Court, including master calendar and merits hearings.
• Handle bond hearings and other immigration court proceedings.
• Prepare applications for relief and supporting documentation.
• Work on family-based petitions and immigration matters.
• Prepare waivers, motions, briefs and other filings.
• Represent clients before USCIS.
• Assist with appellate matters arising from immigration proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Communicate with clients and explain complex legal matters clearly.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on case preparation and management.

We've partnered with an established and growing immigration and criminal defence law firm in Irving, Texas, that is actively hiring an Immigration Attorney to join its litigation and family-based immigration practice. This is an opportunity for an attorney who wants to build a meaningful career in immigration law and develop strong courtroom and client-advocacy skills. The firm handles a broad range of immigration matters, with a particular emphasis on removal defence, family-based immigration, waivers, and representation before EOIR & USCIS. You'll manage a diverse immigration caseload and have the opportunity to work directly with clients, develop case strategy, prepare legal arguments and filings, and appear in immigration proceedings.

Your Work May Include

• Representing clients in removal and deportation defence matters
• Appearing before EOIR / Immigration Court, including master calendar and individual merits hearings
• Handling bond hearings and other immigration court proceedings
• Preparing applications for relief and supporting documentation
• Working on family-based petitions and immigration matters
• Preparing waivers, motions, briefs and other legal filings
• Representing clients before USCIS
• Assisting with appellate matters arising from immigration proceedings
• Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
• Communicating directly with clients and explaining complex legal matters clearly
• Working closely with attorneys and dedicated support staff on case preparation and management

Skills

• Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Prior EOIR experience is helpful but not required. The firm is prepared to train and support the right attorney as they develop. The practice is supported by a dedicated staff team handling case management and process, allowing attorneys to remain focused on strategy, advocacy, client relationships and courtroom work.
