Job summary

McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP seeks an attorney with 2–3 years in bankruptcy to represent institutional lenders and trustees. You will focus on protecting secured creditor rights in Chapters 7, 11, and 13, handling claims, relief motions, and plan objections in Texas courts.

Candidates must have a JD from an accredited law school, be in good standing, and be able to manage high-volume dockets while communicating clearly with clients and courts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Represent institutional mortgage lenders and servicers in bankruptcy matters with a focus on protecting and enforcing secured-creditor rights in Chapters 7, 13, and 11. Provide end-to-end legal strategy across the lifecycle of a bankruptcy case, including proof of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan review and objection, loan modification and loss-mitigation oversight, and post-petition compliance. Advise clients on complex bankruptcy, servicing, and investor-guideline issues to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize financial risk, and maximize recoveries while maintaining borrower-facing and court-facing credibility.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 2- 3 years of experience working as an Attorney in the Bankruptcy arena, at least 1 year representing creditors in Texas Bankruptcy Courts


• In good standing and an active member of the Bar


• Strong communication and writing skills


• Proven abilities to manage multiple responsibilities at once and know when to reprioritize and effectively manage a high case volume in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment


• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and rules


• Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations


• Must be able to attend hearings and mediations throughout the State of Texas

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EDUCATION:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school


• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
