This is an exciting opportunity to build your legal career with a recognized leader in Creditors’ Rights law. As an Associate Attorney, you will have a significant impact by managing cases from inception through post-judgment remedies. You will gain invaluable hands-on experience, including representing client interests in court—an opportunity often unavailable to junior attorneys early in their careers.
This role is critical to our firm’s core legal operations. You will be an integral part of our Creditors’ Rights team, supporting a high-volume caseload with a focus on legal excellence, compliance, and courtroom advocacy. You’ll work closely with the Managing Attorney and other experienced legal professionals who are invested in mentorship and collaboration. Manage all legal processes for a high-volume caseload, from inception through post-judgment remedies.
Demonstrate exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
Provide expert analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
Negotiate with opposing counsel to achieve final resolution of cases.
Travel to various courts within Virginia to provide legal representation in proceedings and attend hearings as needed.
Work closely with the Managing Attorney to report on all case activity and results.
Required (Non-Negotiable):
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Must hold an active license to practice law in Virginia.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage and litigate a high-volume caseload.
Willingness and ability to travel to courts throughout Virginia as needed.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
0–3 years of experience in bankruptcy, collections, or civil litigation.
Licensure in other states within our firm’s footprint (GA, SC, TN, FL, MD, MI, OH) or UBE passage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills to excel in a fast-paced environment.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000.Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
