Job summary

Cohn & Dussi, LLC in Boston, MA seeks newly admitted attorneys or those with up to three years of experience to join our growing commercial litigation and transactional practice. This is a full-time position based in our Boston office.

You will work closely with the firm’s legal team representing financial institutions, equipment finance companies, SBA lenders, and other commercial clients in workouts, litigation, bankruptcy-related matters, and commercial real estate transactions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare legal analysis.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and legal agreements.
• Assist with and manage written discovery and document review.
• Participate in court appearances, hearings, conferences and other proceedings.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist with case strategy, settlement negotiations, workouts, and recovery efforts.
• Support commercial transactions, including finance and real estate matters.
• Work with experienced attorneys through all phases of litigation and transactional matters.

The firm represents financial institutions, equipment finance companies, lenders, businesses, and other commercial clients throughout the United States.

Role Description

Cohn & Dussi, LLC is seeking newly admitted attorneys and attorneys with up to three years of experience to join its growing practice. This is a full-time position based in our Boston, Massachusetts office.

This position is designed for attorneys who are looking to build a strong foundation in commercial litigation and transactional practice while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience early in their careers. The firm is committed to providing close mentoring, practical training, and regular opportunities to work directly with experienced attorneys who will help new associates develop their legal, strategic, and client-management skills.

Selected attorneys will work closely with the firm’s legal team in representing financial institutions, equipment finance companies, SBA lenders, and other commercial clients in workouts, commercial litigation, collections, bankruptcy-related matters, and commercial real estate transactions.

Associates will have the opportunity to gain substantive experience across all phases of a matter, including:

• Conducting legal research and preparing legal analysis;
• Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and legal agreements;
• Assisting with and managing written discovery and document review;
• Participating in court appearances, hearings, conferences, and other proceedings;
• Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties;
• Assisting with case strategy, settlement negotiations, workouts, and recovery efforts;
• Supporting commercial transactions, including finance and real estate matters; and
• Working alongside experienced attorneys through all phases of litigation and transactional matters.

As associates gain experience, they will be given increasing responsibility for managing matters, developing strategy, appearing in court, communicating with clients, and handling cases independently. The firm’s goal is to provide new attorneys with the experience, mentorship, and practical skills necessary to develop into well-rounded and effective commercial attorneys.

Qualifications

• Admission to the Massachusetts Bar;
• Newly admitted attorneys and attorneys with up to three years of experience are encouraged to apply;
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills;
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities;
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively;

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and bar admissions.
