The University of Virginia, located on the UVA Grounds in Charlottesville, seeks an Associate Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine program. The role includes supervising staff, handling medical records, and delivering comprehensive care to student-athletes in collaboration with the Sports Medicine team.
Requires 2 years NCAA athletic training experience, a Bachelor's degree, and state licensure eligibility.
The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is currently seeking an Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine program.
Associate Athletic Trainers are typically assigned oversight of one primary sports program; however, they may serve in a supporting capacity for a secondary sports program. They are responsible for assisting the Senior Associate AD for Sports Medicine in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, referral and rehabilitation of injuries/illnesses of student-athletes. They may supervise other athletic trainers, graduate assistants, or student workers. They perform their work independently, under limited supervision.
Anticipated hiring range: $95,000-$105,000, dependent upon qualifications.
Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 2 years of certified athletic trainer experience in an NCAA institutional athletic environment
Licensure: Eligibility for State Licensure as an Athletic Trainer per the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
CPR/AED certifications.
Valid driver's license and personal transportation.
Education: Masters or Doctoral Degree.
Preferred experience includes:
Licensure: CSCS, CES, PES, FMS, BFR, cupping, and/or Graston certifications preferred.
Anticipated hiring range: $95,000-$105,000, dependent upon qualifications. This position will not consider candidates who require immigration sponsorship now or in the future. Work is performed in the process of providing medical assistance and services to student-athletes which may include physical therapy and rehabilitation. Work is performed in a Sports Medicine facility possibly with the use of compressed gasses, cleaning products, weight bearing and strengthening equipment and apparatus.
