The Associate Athletics Director, Development will be responsiblefor identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospect,with a focus on securing major gifts of $25,000+ and principalgifts of $1 million+. In addition, the incumbent provides strategicoversight of annual giving and planned giving initiatives whilefostering meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, corporatepartners, and community stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with the Executive Director of Athletics,University Relations and Development, campus leadership, coaches,and external constituents, this position advances the department'sstrategic priorities by leading athletics development operations,supervising development personnel, supporting assigned sportprograms, ensuring responsible stewardship of philanthropicresources, and promoting a culture of compliance, service, andexcellence in support of Long Beach State Athletics and itsstudent-athletes.

This position is a strategic and accomplished fundraising leaderwith a proven ability to secure major and principal gifts, manage a high-value donor portfolio, and build meaningful relationships that advance the mission of Long Beach State Athletics. They are skilledin developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategiesthat generate support through major gifts, annual giving,endowments, capital projects, and planned giving opportunities,while providing exceptional donor cultivation and stewardship.Experienced in utilizing CRM systems and fundraising analytics,they effectively identify prospects, manage pipelines, trackperformance, and make data-informed decisions to achieve ambitiousrevenue goals.
The successful candidate provides visionary leadership for the Athletics Development program by setting fundraising priorities,managing budgets, leading staff, and fostering a high-performing,donor-centered culture. They work collaboratively with Athleticsleadership, University Relations and Development, campus partners,and external stakeholders to align fundraising efforts withinstitutional goals, strengthen donor engagement, and maximizephilanthropic support. As a member of the Executive Director ofAthletics' senior leadership team, they contribute to strategicplanning, policy development, and resource stewardship whilerepresenting Athletics across campus and in the community.
In addition, the ideal candidate effectively supervises assignedsports programs, supports coaches and student-athlete success, andensures compliance with NCAA, conference, and universityregulations. Long Beach State Athletics is committed to following NCAA, Big West Conference, Golden Coast Conference, and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rules and regulations. Therefore, the incumbent is required to maintain a working knowledge of these rules and regulations.
Campus Security Authority: This position serves as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act and Executive Order 1107. Incumbent is required to promptly report allegations of Clery qualifying crimes that occur within a campus' Clery geography.
Conflict of Interest: The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis, complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment, and attend this training every other year thereafter.
