Job summary

Calcium+Company is seeking an Associate Art Director to support the creative team by applying core graphic and communication design skills under the guidance of a Senior Art Director or Art Supervisor, with healthcare-focused projects.

You will execute concepts, adhere to direction, incorporate feedback, manage your workflow, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver on time while upholding our values of commitment, integrity, and respect.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, advertising, or related major.
• Portfolio demonstrates design skills.
• 0–4 years of graphic design/production experience in an advertising/communications setting.
• Understanding of interactive design and information architecture.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of motion graphics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of visual communication design principles (typography, color theory, composition, user-centered design).
• Design layouts based on brand guidelines or evolving creative direction.
• Utilize current and emerging software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, XD, Word, PowerPoint); adapt to AI tools as needed.
• Apply revisions to layouts as directed by brand team.
• Understand print and digital production processes including file setup and formatting.
• Collaborate with editorial and project management to meet deadlines.
• Develop brand knowledge and foundational understanding of relevant science.
• Learn and follow documentation and information maintenance protocols.
• Organize and maintain source files, assets, and mechanicals.
